Tolby is BISS GCHS Aziza’s Backcountry Toblerone and has been the Top Ranked Rhodesian Ridgeback from Colorado in Breed Points for 2026 and for 2025. In 2025 in only 6 months of showing he finished #8 in the National Ranking. In 2026 he’s only been out for 2 months and is approaching the top ten again.
More important to us than his ranking is that Tolby is an amazing example of what a Rhodesian Ridgeback should be. Amazing movement, perfect balance and an amazing personality. Our family has been in Rhodesian Ridgebacks for over 28 years and it’s been an amazing journey. We are so excited to have Tolby recognized in the RRCUS National Top 25 for 2025. Shown for only seven months of the year, with the expert handling of Wendy Oelrich, Tolby was in the ribbons every weekend, including 17 group placements. A dog with broad appeal, Tolby showed us how special he was when, at just 18 months old, he won all three Group 1s at the Roswell Kennel Club shows.
Bred by Aziza Ridgebacks, Tolby is a product of a breeding program founded in 2011 by Aura Lee Savaglio and now proudly carried forward by Aura and her daughter, Peyton Pasquini. Their shared commitment to health, temperament, sound structure, and breed type has guided the Aziza program from the beginning. The success of Aziza dogs in the show ring, performance venues, and loving homes is a testament to that dedication.
Tolby is a beautiful, balanced dog with wonderful movement, presence, and breed type. Wendy describes him as having “substance without exaggeration, movement without effort, and the temperament to match,” adding that he represents the qualities serious Ridgeback breeders seek to preserve.
As his owners, we feel especially lucky that Tolby’s personality is even better than his show record. He will work with any handler or trainer, is a regular feature at the office, and happily plays with any dog he meets. In addition to our Ridgebacks, we have a Corgi, and Tolby lies on the ground to wrestle with him, just to even things up a bit. He is a wonderful family dog: gentle with our children, welcoming to visitors, and always happiest when he is close to his people.
Like any good Ridgeback, Tolby is sleeping on the couch next to me as I write this. We are so proud of everything he accomplished in 2025 and so grateful for the breeders, handlers, friends, and family who have helped him along the way.
